Thanks to everyone one who participated in our 2008 Spring Regatta Saturday. Whether you raced or helped in any way I thank you for making this a great regatta. We could not do it without all the help and support.

A very special thanks to West Marine of Baton Rouge for their sponsorship and support of our regatta. You made Saturday a special day for us all. Everyone should know that they donated the two large orange marker buoys we used Saturday. The only way you wont see these is if they are put around a curve in the lake.

For everyone who couldn't make it you missed some outstanding sailing. Even though the weather never really turned out the way it was forecast, it was still an excellent day for a regatta. It wasn't pretty, as they say, but it was perfect. Most of the day the winds were from the N to NW, give or take a degree or 3 or 4, you know how that goes. The speed was 8 to 10 gusting to 12 to 15 I would say. We got in 3 races, the results will be posted on the web site this week. The pictures are already up if you would like to look them over.

After the first race everyone enjoyed some of best BBQ chicken you can get along with BBQ beans and potato salad. I say it was good because there wasn't a lot left and we had plenty. We also had our usual great dips, desserts and munchies we all love to eat along with plenty of beer, wine and water. What else could you ask for.

Check your calendar (May) for our next event which will be sponsored by our social committee. That means it'll be paid for by your $5.00 social fee so I hope you will come out and take advantage of the opportunity.
