Nice breeze early, crumping towards the very end of the race. Thanks Dave Poydock for doing race committee!
Great food by Marie Carpenter (fresh tomato bisque and roast chicken sandwiches). Will do it again next Sunday...1:00 p.m. start... Come on out and race or at least enjoy good food with friends.
If anyone is looking to crew let me know so we can try and get you on a boat.

Week Two

Yesterday was another great day of racing at Pelican!!  The second race of the Coffee Pot series was a little chilly but by race time, the weather was partly sunny and had warmed up to the mid 50's.  Five boats raced with an exciting downwind start and two laps around in sometimes breezy conditions.  Hank and Brent jumped out to an early lead and led the way to the first mark while the Flying Scots flew the chutes and closed the gap.  By the next downwind leg the Flying Scots and the Sunfish were mixing it up boat for boat.  At the finish it was Rob, Wendy and the boys first boat for boat but Hank and Brent easily won 1st and 2nd on corrected time.    Hot gumbo, shrimp pasta and green salad awaited the windblown sailors as they retired to the club after the race.  Everyone had a great time and is ready for next week!  The Parkers brought home plenty of extra food since only a few non-racers showed up to partake of the free lunch but extra gumbo always goes fast...   A big thanks to Fuzzy and Dennis for running the races and scoring everyone at the finish.  The order of finish is as follows:
